He kind of discreetly tell me I should take a look at Robinsons before deciding as he knew Robinsons sells Timberland luggage as well. Saw a luggage there last week selling for $599 so I asked the salesperson if there's a cheaper one or different model. I have good experience at same Timberland outlet as well. Don't I recall Singapore had a similar campaign?Īre you serious about wanting to remain competitive, Singaporeans? and Andy Lau is always on TV reminding those in service industry to take that extra step to make their customers feel that they are really being served. And you do not really feel anything plastic about those smiles or words. Mess up all the clothes you want and not buy anything and you will only hear "thank you, come again" as you leave the shop. You would just love to walk into Giodano and Bossini and similar shops. Of course, I bought it.īy comparison, in HK nowadays, it would be rare to be met with bad service. She told me she would clean it up, wax it up and if if I still do not like it, I do not need to buy it. But she was so patient and polite that she managed to sell me an obviously "tried by many people" pair of shoes because that was the last pair of my size available. The store was on sale and quite a few people in the store. Talking about being followed in the shop by the sales staff, do you also experience times when you actually needed help but no sales staff are available? They seem to know when to get scarceīut I must give credit to a sales lady at Timberland in Raffles City. And she was certainly not a part time student. The reply was "Sir, we cannot do that, we are under different management." I was so shock by the response that I yell at her and she had to go and ask for me. So I ask if they could check if another Nokia "Professional" would have stock as I don't mind going there to collect. They found a faulty battery but they did not have stock. So service level hasn't improve in Singapore I see.Ī few years back, I went to the Nokia "Professional" shop in Bugis to check out why my phone wasn't working properly. I think it boils down to how they train their stuff. Whereas in Swensen, the service there is always wonderful. Same in Bangkok, I noticed at Baskin Robbin or Haagen Dazs- the service is invariably wanting. I will take a fake smile anytime over a no-smile. ![]() Or how the stuff are really properly trained so that they are proud of their job and to servce (at least with a smile). The only consistent excellent service provide by our local fast-food chain comes from Macdonald. ![]() I was thinking why must I act nasty before I can get some decent service in Spore. But at that point, I wasnt really that hungry anymore. I was surprised when she whispered a 'thank you' after I paid up. I shouted back 'Honey Oats!' and gave her the coldest glare I could manage. After a while, she growled "What bread?". I approached the counter and the service girl glared at me. Was at Subway in Orchard Cineleisure this afternoon for lunch.
